What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Barnacullen, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a subcircular area at the crest of a slight northeast-facing slope, where remains of an earthen bank once defined its boundary. The site is no longer visible at ground level because reclaimed pasture now covers the feature. Another rath lies about one hundred metres to the northwest.
At the crest of a slight NE-facing slope. Described as a subcircular area (dims 38m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by the remains of an earthen bank (Gannon 1972). It is not visible now at ground level in reclaimed pasture. Rath (RO045-022----) is c. 100m to the NW.
