Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballyglass (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular grass-covered area on a NE-facing slope, bounded partly by an earthen bank and partly by a field hedge. Three other raths stand within 180m to the west, northeast and southeast.
On a NE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 37.5m NE-SW; c. 34m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3m; H 0.5-0.8m) W-N, which is incorporated into a field bank and hedge S-W and reduced to a slight scarp N-E-S. Raths (RO045-015----; RO045-017----; RO045-018----) are c. 40m to the W, 65m to the NE, 180m to the SE respectively. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
