Enclosure is an enclosure, large enclosure in Ballyglass (athlone North By.),curraghnaveen, County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass-covered area sits on a gentle E-facing rise, defined by an earthen bank and outer bank separated by a fosse. A 3.7m-wide entrance cuts through both banks at the NE, while field walls and clearance cairns mark the interior.
On a rise of a gentle E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 76m NE-SW; 73m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.4-4.4m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 0.3-1.2m), which is overgrown E-SW, separated by a fosse (at SE: Wth of top 7.3m; Wth of base 2.2m) from an outer bank (at SE: Wth 6.4m; int. H 1.3m; ext. H 0.35m) that is best preserved NE-SE (max. ext. diam. 86m NW-SE). There is an entrance (Wth 3.7m) through both banks at NE. The interior is cut by a NW-SE field wall and townland boundary SW of the centre and a field bank runs SW from this in Curraghnaveen townland. There is also a relict NW-SE field wall with a spur off to the E in Ballyglass and some clearance cairns in the interior.
