Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballyglass (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. The 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map marked a circular embanked enclosure with an external diameter of about 40m, while the 1915 edition showed a D-shaped area measuring about 35m east-west and 30m north-south. The site sits at the crest of a north-facing slope, is not visible at ground level, and has a saddle quern with a steep-sided oval depression kept at a nearby farmhouse. Rath RO045-013---- lies about 50m to the east.
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1837 ed. and as a D-shaped area (dims c. 35m E-W; c. 30m N-S) on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, Situated at the crest of a N-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level, but a saddle quern (dims 0.46m x 0.44m; H 0.22m) from here with a steep-sided oval depression (dims 0.33m x 0.22m) on one surface is kept at a nearby farmhouse. Rath (RO045-013----) is c. 50m to the E.
