What is recorded here

Marked as a rectangular embanked or moated enclosure (ext. dims. c. c. 40m N-S; 25-35m E-W)on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and as a subcircular hachured feature (ext. dims. c. 50m N-S; c. 40m E-W) on the 1925 ed. and situated on a slight rise in a fairly level landscape. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m) defined by a slight scarp and an external fosse visible as lusher vegetation (Wth 2.5-4m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
