What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Arraghan, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular overgrown area 42m wide on a SE-facing slope. A 0.3m scarp marks the north edge while a 5m-wide fosse cuts the east and southwest. A cashel sits inside the northern area, but no original entrance remains visible.
Towards the bottom of a SE-facing slope. Circular overgrown area (diam. 42m NNW-SSE) defined by a scarp (H 0.3m at N), and by a fosse (Wth of top 5m; int. D 1.2m; ext. D 0.3m) E-SW. There is no identifiable original entrance, and cashel (RO021-006001-) is situated in the N interior. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
