Ellice Pilkington

Ellice Pilkington died in Ballsbridge, County Dublin, on 24 August 1936, ending a life that stretched from Wexford refinements to South African refugee camps and Donegal roads. She had organised United Irishwomen branches with a thermos flask and a map, treating rural emigration as a wound that needed practical healing. Her death came quietly after decades of teaching women to shape homes, industries and public life on their own terms.
