What is recorded here
The present Ball's bridge was built in 1835 to replace one of three arches (1791) which succeeded an earlier one erected prior to 1750(Ball 1900, 317). An earlier stone bridge at this site was swept away by floods in 1652(Joyce 1912, 25-6).
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
