Ecclesiastical enclosure in Bridgecartron OR Derrycashel,lyonstown is an ecclesiastical enclosure in Bridgecartron OR Derrycashel,lyonstown, County Roscommon, Ireland. It is an early ecclesiastical site on a shelf at the bottom of the E-facing slope of a drumlin. A church stands within a circular enclosure about 60m wide, bounded partly by an earthen bank and partly by a scarp. A quarry has cut into the south side, and the north quadrant has been reclaimed.
On a shelf at the bottom of the E-facing slope of a drumlin, and of early ecclesiastical origin. The church (RO003-020001-) is within a circular ecclesiastical enclosure (diam. 60m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.5m; H 0.1-0.2m) SW-W and a scarp (H 0.3-0.6m) NNE-SE, but it has been truncated at S by a quarry (H c. 10m), and the N quadrant of the enclosure has been reclaimed.
