What is recorded here

Medieval church ruins (WM013-038----) stands in centre of graveyard (WM013-038001-) which contains memorials of post-medieval date. The oval-shaped boundary of the graveyard possibly indicates the presence of an Early Christian ecclesiastical enclosure (Swan 1988, 26). Compiled by: Caimin O’Brien Date of upload: 8 October 2015
An ecclesiastical enclosure in Balreagh, likely associated with an early-medieval church and cemetery, is marked by an oval-shaped boundary that may reflect the remains of a ringfort or rath. Local tradition and the presence of later memorials suggest continuity of sacred or significant use of the site through the medieval and post-medieval periods.
