What is recorded here

Ballynakill is an ecclesiastical enclosure on a rise in County Galway, Ireland. Its oval boundary, sixty-one metres long and forty-one metres wide, still shows an earth-and-stone bank, a scarp, and part of an outer ditch. A church and graveyard occupy the southern half, while a ringfort sits fifty metres to the south-east. The place is poorly preserved but clearly shaped for worship, burial, and daily life beside a defensive home.

On top of a rise in pastureland. Poorly preserved oval area (N-S 61m, E-W 41m) defined from NNW to SE by a bank of earth and stone, and elsewhere a scarp. External fosse visible from SE to S. Possible entrance at SSE. A church (GA007-035----) and graveyard occupy S half of the interior. A ringfort (GA007-036----) lies c. 50m to SSE.
