Earthwork in Tobernea West

In reclaimed pasture immediately E of a field boundary and drainage ditch. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a circular earthwork with tree-planted interior. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised oval-shaped area (dims. c. 33m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by a scarp. Levelled monument is visible as a circular-shaped cropmark on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 16/03/2016 where it is truncated at W by a field drain running NE-SW.
