Earthwork in Stormanstown

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Series of banks and trenches in field W of St Medoc's Church. Site may be part of original graveyard or possibly part of landscape gardening. Complex of church site in Churchtown townland (LH013-028----), earthworks in this townland and in Tullakeel townland (LH013-023----), 'the Mill Park', 'Mill Hill' and 'Mill Race' in Stormanstown townland may form part of medieval village.
