Earthwork in Lehinch

Earthwork

What is recorded here

Lehinch is a lost ringfort because modern houses consumed the evidence. That is not mystery, as much as it is warning. The ground still holds the shape of human pride, but people removed the proof for convenience. Memory requires witness, and witness requires mercy.
On a N-facing slope in pasture. According to local information this was the site of a ringfort, clearly visible until around 1995 when the building of houses caused the site to be levelled. It was apparently more visible than the ringfort (CL023-058----) c. 300m to the SW. Not visible at ground level and not visible on available aerial imagery.
