Earthwork in Knockauncourt

Earthwork

What is recorded here

According to Lyons (1938, 152) the 'earliest Norman fort in the parish seems to have been at Knockauncourt…on a low land-swell close to the south of the Clonmel-Waterford Railway and east of the Frenchman's stream. The remains are too meagre for description'. This possible earthwork remains unlocated within the townland of Knockauncourt. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
