What is recorded here

Killin holds a vanished fort, erased by time or men. A survey line marked it in 1835, but no ridge, ditch or bank remains for hands to touch. The earth forgot the shape of defences that once stood against danger. What is lost can still be imagined: a ring of stones, a gate, a fire lit at dusk.
