Situated on poorly drained land in an upland area with a nearby ringfort (TN022-056----) 180m to the S. Depicted as a circular earthwork on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map but not indicated on the revised 1901 ed. OS 25-inch map. Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
