What is recorded here
Dwyer's Rock is a coastal basaltic rock formation in County Wicklow, formed during the Palaeogene period, approximately 60 to 35 million years ago, through volcanic activity associated with the opening of the North Atlantic. It is notable for its resistant basalt composition, which has withstood coastal erosion, and may represent part of the broader Tertiary volcanic system of eastern Ireland.
