Road bridge (Wth 7.4m; long axis NE-SW) over River Blackwater, on county boundary with Kerry. Three wide segmental arches (span c. 8.9m), dressed limestone voussoirs with chamfered edges; prominent keystone; limestone string course over arches. Base of piers on downstream side (SE) of ashlar limestone; low bluntly pointed cutwaters on upstream side (NW). D-shaped limestone coping atop parapet wall; plaque in SE wall reads "Duncannon Bridge/ Richard Griffith Engineer"; second plaque on NW side reads "W IV REX/ AD 1834". Squat pier abutments at either end. Similar in design to Leader's Bridge (14797). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
