Doagh Island, islet in County Donegal

What is recorded here

Doagh Island is the traditional name for a peninsula in northwest Inishowen, between Pollan Bay and Trawbreaga Bay. The Carndonagh visitor guide explains that sand and dunes joined this former island to the mainland, so it can be reached by road today. The area has a long settlement history and contains the separate Doagh Famine Village attraction. This map point names the wider landform, not a museum entrance; check the village's own visitor details if that is your destination.

Explorer Tom Hut site in Baile Thiarnáin is a circle within a larger walled area on a long, narrow ridge. The circle measured about six and a half metres across inside, with a grassed stone wall only about twenty centimetres high in the survey. Those two nested outlines make the plan interesting without inventing a resident.
