What is recorded here

Freestanding gateway, built c. 1840, comprising pair of square-profile cut limestone piers with pyramid caps and platbands. Decorative cast-iron double-leaf gates with fleur-de-lis motifs.
Adding decorative interest to the streetscape, this gateway displays fine craftsmanship and stonework. It forms a pair with the entrance of a similar design opposite as well as with the other early stone structures to the north and east: the church, dovecote and school.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
