What is recorded here
Indicated as 'David's Well' in Gothic script on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map and on the 1899-1902 revision, though on the later map a pump house is also indicated at the location of the well.

Linked to Saint David, the well is traditionally associated with healing and pilgrimage, reflecting the widespread veneration of the Welsh patron saint in early Christian Ireland. The addition of a pump house in the early 20th century suggests continued local use, though its sacred character may have diminished over time.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
