Culzean Castle, Stables and Clock Tower were built by the Kennedy family, beginning in the 18th century, with the castle significantly expanded in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The site is important as a prominent example of Scottish neoclassical architecture and as a historic seat of one of Ayrshire's most influential families.
