The Battle of Culloden was fought between the Jacobite forces led by Charles Edward Stuart and the British government army commanded by Duke of Cumberland in April 1746. The British victory ended the Jacobite rising and significantly weakened Scottish Highland influence, altering political and cultural dynamics in Scotland.
