Inch, County Kerry: children's burial ground holds a north-south slab, 1.6m high and 0.82m wide, with matching ringed crosses carved on both faces. The west cross may be a later copy of the east one, according to O'Connell (1937); a faint bird appears near the top of the east shaft. Whoever cut the second cross did not disguise the first, but answered it across the stone.

In a children's burial ground (KE076-011001-). A rectangular stone slab (H 1.6m; Wth 0.82m; T 0.06m), which is aligned N-S, has identical carvings of a ringed cross (H 1.18m) centrally placed on each face. The head of the cross (Wth 0.12m) extends upwards beyond the ring, the arms extend beyond the ring to the edge of the slab, and the shaft extends beyond the ring to the present ground level. A faint carving of a bird was recently noted on the E face of the cross-slab at the top of the shaft of the cross (pers. comm. John Sheehan). According to O'Connell (1937, 303-304), the 'cross on the west side appears to be a more modern copy of that on the east side'. Probably dating to the early medieval period (7th–10th century), the cross-slab likely served as a Christian memorial or waymarker. Ringed crosses are commonly associated with early Irish monastic tradition and may reflect local Christian burial practices or pilgrimage routes.
