A cross-slab (H 0.66m plus; Wth 0.28m; T 6cm) is retaining the W side of St Bridget’s Well (LE031-127001-) (Ward 1990, 77). It has a deeply-incised ringed cross with a double-ring (diam. 0.28m) on one face. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 14 September, 2015

Probably dating to the early medieval period (5th–10th centuries), the cross-slab likely served a Christian ritual or commemorative function, possibly associated with St Bridget’s Well as a site of pilgrimage or holy water use. Ringed crosses of this type are often linked to early Irish monastic traditions and may reflect local devotion or territorial markers.
