What is recorded here
That is a cross-inscribed stone: a small rectangular block of conglomerate, thirty-six centimetres tall and thirty-four wide, with a rounded top and a sharp equal-armed cross cut inside a shallow circular panel. It stands in a medieval parish church in Downings North, County Kildare, where the finished shape still suggests prayer rather than display. A person may have carried it from elsewhere, set it down, and left the meaning behind. The stone keeps the cross anyway.
In a medieval parish church (KD013-008002-). A small, rectangular, conglomerate stone (dims. H 0.36m; Wth 0.34m; T 0.10m) has a gently rounded top and carries a well-carved, equal armed cross (dims. H 0.27m; Wth 0.27m) in a shallow, circular panel.
