Outside the N nave wall of Hook parish church (WX054-009001-) is a recumbent slab (dims 1.55m x 0.62-0.64m) with a crudely incised latin cross (H 0.8m; Wth 0.5m) composed of two incised lines (Wth of stem 0.1m; Wth of arms 0.1m) on its upper face. Dated to the early medieval period, likely between the 8th and 12th centuries, the cross-inscribed stone may have served as a Christian memorial or waymarker. Such stones are often associated with early Christian practice and may reflect local religious devotion or burial customs.
