Cross-inscribed stone in Ardcarn (boyle By.) is a cross-inscribed stone in Ardcarn (boyle By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It stands towards the top of an E-facing slope in the new graveyard at the Ardcarn church site, which appears as Templemihal only on the 1914 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The small slab rises 0.53m and bears a cross 0.11m high and 0.09m wide on one face. Archaeological testing near the stone for a drainage pipe produced no related material.
Towards the top of an E-facing slope in the new graveyard (dims. c. 90m NE-SW; c. 70m NW-SE) at Ardcarn church site (RO006-103002-) which is marked 'Templemihil' only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A small slab (dims. 0.1-0.2m x 0.1m; H 0.53m) inscribed with a small cross (H 0.11m; Wth 0.09m) on one face is at the site (Herity et al. 1997,114). Archaeological testing (14E0166) for the laying of a drainage pipe at the S corner of the new graveyard in the vicinity of this stone produced no related material (Timoney 2014).
