Croaghpatrick in County Donegal rises to approximately 588 metres and is part of the Derryveagh mountain range, composed mainly of basalt and formed during the Tertiary volcanic period. It is also known as "Patrick's Hill," associated with Saint Patrick who is said to have fasted there for 40 days, giving it significant cultural and religious importance in Irish tradition.
