Crannog in Lough Gowna is a stony oval island 70m west of the shore, rising 2.2m above the lake-bed and overgrown with trees. Its level surface of stones and thin vegetation suggests people shaped it into a small, stable place for living or working. Another crannog lies 200m to the north-east, hinting that this bay once held more than one human claim.

In a bay in Lough Gowna, c. 70m to the W of the shoreline. This stony oval island (c. 19m N–S; 10m E–W) rises 2.2m above the lake-bed and is overgrown with trees. The surface consists of stones covered by a thin layer of vegetation. These stones form a level stable surface with no distinct topographical changes.
