What is recorded here

Carrowmore Lake in County Mayo, Ireland holds a crannog, an artificial island or structure built upon water. The lake itself may have formed later, submerging an older settlement or shaping the crannog into its present hidden form. Whatever lives beneath the surface, the water has kept it company for centuries.
