Crannog in Carrick (kilbarron Par.),meelick

Situated on a sand bank of a river bed flowing from Annagh Lough into Lough Derg. A man-made island constructed of piled timbers (Wood-Martin 1886, 212); now inaccessible and partially destroyed by recent river widening operations.
