Annaghoash holds a crannog, which means the lake itself once served people as a neighbourhood rather than a blank space. Whether the water hid a house, a garden or a place of worship, the name preserves the shape of lives that no longer answer questions. The lake keeps what memory has dropped, and the town still orbits that hidden centre.
