What is recorded here
Crane Island is a crannog in Lough Ramor, County Cavan, where centuries of living may have piled into its central mound. It sits thirty-seven metres from the shore, large enough to hold a household but surrounded by deep water that kept intruders at bay. A rock-strewn beach still marks its edge, as if the island were built to resist the lake rather than submit to it. People may have cooked, born children, argued and forgotten ordinary days there before the mainland swallowed the memory.
Crane Island is recorded as a islet in County Cavan. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
