Birmingham Demesne is a ruined court in County Galway, Ireland, where a bawn once shaped local life. The exact history remains hidden, but the ruined name suggests a place where people gathered, worked or passed through before decay took it. What is lost is not nothing. It is a life that stopped being written, not a life that never existed.
