Cornagnoe Fort, Ballybroghan is a ringfort, typically dating to the early medieval period (c. 500–1000 AD), and is likely to have been a defended homestead or farmstead. Local folklore may associate such sites with fairies or other supernatural beings, as "fairy forts" were commonly believed to be the homes of the Aos Sí in Irish tradition.
