What is recorded here

On an E-facing slope in gently undulating terrain, under pasture. Field boundary runs N-S along E quadrant and E-W along S quadrant, also a field boundary running E-W from the W quadrant. Monument consists of a central circular enclosure (diam. 33m N-S; 34m E-W) defined by a low bank (Wth 7-8.3m; int. H 0.16-0.34m; ext. H 0.75-0.9m) and ext. fosse (Wth 1.9-3.6m; D 0.17-0.5m) and a wide berm (Wth 16.5-20.4m) defined by a low bank (Wth 2.2-41m; int. H 0.11-0.41m; ext. H 0.61-1.17m) and ext. fosse (Wth 1.5-2.4m; D 0.2-0.6m). Monument is grass covered with tree stumps along outer bank in NW quadrant. Gap in inner bank (Wth c. 7m) in NE quadrant, with a narrower gap in the outer bank (Wth 3.8m). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
