Limestone setts and granite bands to entrances along west side of Mary Street, c. 1875.

Early nineteenth-century setts and granite bands having importance as surviving example in reasonable condition, where other similar examples have been lost. These setts form part of an interesting group with similar nineteenth-century paving schemes. Setts such as these are found in many locations throughout the city, and contribute to the unique character of the city. These paving schemes utilised cut limestone, which in many cases has been replaced or covered with concrete.
