Cloghatempan

In a slight col in a low-lying landscape between low rises to the N and S. Upright limestone pillar (dims 2.5m NNW-SSE; 0.85m ENE-WSW; H 2.65m) leaning slightly to the W. There are three possible cup-marks on its W face near the SW angle, and according to J. O'Donovan writing in the 1830s its base was excavated by treasure hunters earlier in the 19th century (O'Flanagan 1931, vol. 1, 83). See the attached view taken from the N.
