Clochan na Carraige

On a sheltered terrace to NW of Port Mhuirbhigh, Inis Mór. This Nat. Mon., the best preserved of the clochans on the island, is oval in plan (NE-SW 6m, NW-SE 2.35m, H 2.7m). Two opposing doorways in NW and SE walls give access to the interior, with its fine corbelled roof, and there is a small window in SW end-wall. Probably of 17-18th-C date (pers. comm. E. Rynne).
