Claggan Stone Ringfort — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Twenty metres across and half buried in rough Donegal pasture, the collapsed ring holds a narrow east gate marked by two stones set transversely to the wall. The north face still rises eighty centimetres, while loose stone and shapeless shadows fill the middle, suggesting a small dwelling, refuge or boundary rather than a grand castle. Local tradition calls it a fairy fort, which may mean only that people stopped treating it as an ordinary human home and began keeping its strangeness intact.

Internal diam. 20m. A circular area enclosed by a collapsed stone wall. The inner face survives to the N for 3m up to .8m in height. An entrance marked by two stones 1.17m apart, set transversely to the wall exists on the E side. There are a number of shapeless features and loose stone in the interior. It is situated on a low rise in rough pasture sloping down to the W. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
