What is recorded here

Not a chamber, a closet: four slabs, less than a metre long, a man folded to fit. No ring, no bead, no knife to announce him. Build that tight and you are not decorating, you are admitting the limit of what you know. Crossakeel gives back one body and refuses to praise it.

Located on a slight rise. In March 1983 a short rectangular cist with the crouched inhumation of an adult male but with no grave goods was discovered (NMI file). The long axis of the cist (dims 0.97m; 0.54m; H 0.48m) was aligned N-S, and its floor was paved with four rectangular slabs. A small Neolithic or Early Bronze Age cist burial, significant for the presence of a crouched inhumation, reflecting early funerary practices in the region.
