Cist in Cill Éinne

In a sheltered hollow c. 130m NW of Teaghlach Éinne (GA119-120001-). Discovered during excavations for a cattle-grid in 1984. According to local information (Topgr. Files, NMI), it appears to have been a long stone cist, aligned E-W, which was covered by five slabs. It had been excavated in sand (only one sidestone was noted) and it contained the remains of four adults and a child. No visible surface trace survives. Possibly an outlier of the burial area (GA119-018----) c. 50m to ENE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'.
