Cist in Bealaclave

Situated on a low rise of ground in an upland area. A small cist grave discovered during ploughing in 1963 by local farmer. The site consisted of an irregular shaped cist placed in an oval pit (D 0.3m). It was incompletely lined with several small stones with 3 possible capstones. A small quantity of cremated human bones were found at the bottom of the cist resting on a thick layer of charcoal (Rynne 1964, 89-93). Not visible at ground level.
