Charlesfort Demesne holds a cist where a Bowl Food Vessel emerged, yet the exact spot and circumstances remain lost. The vessel suggests people placed sustenance inside a narrow chamber, perhaps feeding the dead or marking a seasonal change. That much has vanished, leaving only the shape of the jar and the shadow of the hole where it appeared.

A Bowl Food Vessel was found in a cist on Charlesfort Demesne (Waddell 1970, 126), but the exact location and circumstances of the discovery are not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987).
