Five-bay two-storey railway terminus building, c. 1866, with projecting end bays, limestone ashlar facade, eaves cornice and carved surrounds to openings. Hipped-roof behind parapet.
Very important former railway terminus building, both in terms of surviving fabric of the terminus and remaining covered platform areas, and in the building's prominent quayside location alongside the City Hall.
