St. Patrick’s lost church lies hidden beneath low grass south of the Derrymore River, preserving only faint foundation lines inside a broken drystone enclosure. The vanished south wall and missing building invite wonder about the worshippers, prayers and everyday lives that once filled the place. Nearby stones and a marked bullaun continue the old identity, while the empty ground waits for imagination to complete what time has erased.

In low-lying grassland to S of the Derrymore River. Traditionally associated with St Patrick (Neary 1914, 125, no. 50). A poorly preserved rectangular church (E-W; L 10.6m, Wth 7.2m ext.) only the grassed-over foundations of which are now visible. A rectangular enclosure (E-W 37m, N-S 20.5m) surrounds it. It is defined by a drystone wall on W, N and E sides: the S side has been removed. There is an entrance (Wth 1.8m) at W. Immediately S of the church is a cross-slab GA005-035005-) (Higgins 1987, 318, no. 44). A bullaun, marked on OS 6-inch maps as 'St. Patrick's Stone', lies 60m to NNE. A tau cross (GA005-035006-) and a CBG (GA005-035007-) are also associated. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
