Church (in Ruins)

In S half of graveyard (14562). Roofless ruin of former C of I parish church of Clenor; c. 10m SSE of earlier parish church (14407). Walls rendered over random-rubble limestone construction. Rectangular nave (long axis E-W) lit by three wide pointed windows in S wall; lights have switch line tracery and cusped ogee heads. Three blind round headed windows in external N wall. Three-storey tower at W end of nave; pointed door ope in S wall. Internal walls dry-lined with slates, some of which remains in situ, small flue in N wall. Built in 1813, capable of accommodating 80 persons (Brady 1863, vol. 2, 118); sold and roof removed in 1887 (Grove-White 1905-25, vol.2, 198).
