Church in Lodge (ballybacon Par.)

Church

What is recorded here

At the edge of a stream which runs eastward and parallel to the River Tar, which it eventually joins. In low-lying terrain at the base of a ridge, in pasture. According to Power (1908, 20) this was the location of a holy well (TS088-040001-) and 'the cill (early church site)'. There is no visible trace of the church above ground and the precise location of the church in relation to the well is unknown. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 04 December 2013
